Velddrift River is a kite spot on the Berg River mouth, at Velddrift on the West Coast. The estuary offers a water body sheltered from ocean swell, with flat water to small chop conditions. The village of Velddrift is known for fishing and the salt industry (Velddrif Salt Pans). Good intermediate spot as an alternative to the Langebaan lagoon.
Works in SE from October to March. Tide influences current and water level in the estuary. Mid-tide recommended. Wind picks up early afternoon.
